We loved working with Brian and Kim and their awesome wedding party. Their wedding is best described as Rustic and Romantic with many DIY touches. The colour of the bridesmaids dresses and Kim’s lace gown were perfect. Not to mention, how awesome are those jeeps! Below is some Q &A with the bride for inspiration and advice.

Tell us your love story…How did you become a couple?
We met on eharmony. I did a display at the wedding of our eharmony profiles, telling our story. One of my bridesmaids picked him off the website and said I “needed to check this guy out, you can trust a guy with a dog.” We hit it off right away, spent 5 hours talking on our first date at a coffee shop and got kicked out when they closed. The rest is history!

What were the highlights of your wedding day?
Everything was perfect! I loved that we made it ours, personalized it and made it a celebration of us. My favourite moment was when I first saw Brian smiling at the end of the isle. Everything else after that was easy!

Any advice for brides to be?
People will tell you to relax and enjoy the day it goes fast. Its true! And great advice. I am glad I took it!

Looking back, is there anything you would have done differently?
Not a thing. It truly felt like a dream come true. It unfolded better then I could have hoped!

Where did you get most of your ideas and inspiration?
I used a lot of items from our home for decor, Stuff that represented us and our style (card box was our actual mailbox). Other ideas came from Pinterest.

Did your wedding preparations include any DIY?
Lots! Homemade jam for favours, hand decorated jam jars, picture displays in old window from my cottage, centre pieces were potted plants in home made planter boxes, Invitations were hand made, I hand stitched the table runners, made our own candle holders….. everything was about personal touch!

How does your wedding reflect your personalities?
We incorporated our love of the country life with the barn and rustic setting. We included our dog in our ceremony and used our jeep for photos and as part of the grand entrance. I showed of my crafty side with the decor, and we planned the reception to be low key and casual like our personalities.

Who was your wedding dress designer?
My dress was an Allure Gown.

Outdoor Country Wedding – Port Perry Birds Eye Park at Lake Scugog (Part 1 of 2) /?p=1523 /?p=1523#comments Mon, 05 Aug 2013 02:23:09 +0000 /?p=1523 This is the first time we have had so many pictures that we wanted to share on our blog that we had to split it up into two parts. We are also going to start sharing some Q&A to our blog post. Although it is fun writing our experiences from the day it is way better hearing some thoughts from the Bride and what she thought of her day. I think we had so many pictures to choose from because as you can see this group of friends and family know how to have fun and party! Congratulations to Amy and Trevor!

Tell us your love story …how did you become a couple?

Trev and I have been together for over 9 years. Back in the day when msn was around, I asked him to be my date to my Price Chopper Christmas party and we have been together ever since.

Outdoor Country Wedding – Uxbridge (Part 2 of 2) /?p=1423 /?p=1423#comments Sun, 04 Aug 2013 15:45:03 +0000 /?p=1423 What were the highlights of your wedding day?

Speeches and the dance party!

Any advice for brides-to-be?

Write your speech weeks in advance.Make sure you take a few minutes to look around and absorb everything!

Looking back, is there anything you would have done differently?

Hired a wedding planner for the day of the wedding to help with all the little details.

Where did you get most of your ideas and inspiration from?

Online, previous weddings we have attended, our vision of a great party and what would make those closest to us know how much they mean to us.

What was the biggest obstacle you had to overcome while organising your dream wedding?

Bringing all the little details and everything together the few days before the wedding.

Any hints for other brides on how to keep your wedding budget friendly?

Write out everything you would like to have and the approximate cost, from there eliminate or change ideas slightly so you can stay within your budget.

What song did you choose for your opening dance and why?

Amazed by Lonestar. This was the song we first danced and smooched too on our first date to my Price Chopper Christmas Party.

Did your wedding preparations include any DIY ?

Tons! It is very time consuming but gives your wedding a personal touch and can reduce cost.

How does your wedding reflect your personalities?

We wanted an outdoor, laid back, fun atmosphere! We tried to think of everything that would make our guests enjoy themselves throughout the entire day from drinks and food to entertainment. We enjoy a good time and wanted to throw a great party with a lots of personal touches. I think It was everything we imagined and more!

Styled Wedding Photo Shoot at The Robert McLaughlin Gallery /?p=1335 /?p=1335#comments Sat, 20 Jul 2013 04:16:32 +0000 /?p=1335 How would I describe this styled wedding shoot? Elegant, chic, colourful, gorgeous with fragrant flowers, perfect for your wedding day! Inspired by the clean lines and stunning modern art gallery. The hard work of a months planning and selecting wedding vendors all came together to create something never seen in the small area of Durham Region. Our colour scheme came together beautifully. Mints, blush, corral, and golds!

I would say the highlights of being able to work with event design and coordinator Paige Lewis, featured in Elegant Weddings Magazine, who added fabulousness to the scene with her key eye for details. Micheal Penney who is a television guest star, decorator, stylist, former magazine editor graciously offered his home inspiring decorating details. Also the elegant simplicity of Lea Ann Belter wedding gown added that extra perfection to the photo shoot. I can’t wait to organize the next styled photo shoot! Thank you to our models Alexandra and Albert.

Niagara-on-the-Lake Wedding – Caroline Cellars Winery /?p=1276 /?p=1276#comments Thu, 18 Jul 2013 01:35:30 +0000 /?p=1276 On mothers day weekend I had the pleasure to photograph a couple so in love.  Sandra and Mark’s wedding can be described as rustic chic. Niagara-on-the-Lake location is filled with beautiful homes, bed and breakfast, and cute boutiques. Of course food and wine was amazing. The pink bloom orchards were stunning. Niagara area has some great spots for pictures.

Spring Mint Green Wedding – General Sikorski Hall /?p=1132 /?p=1132#comments Sun, 09 Jun 2013 15:07:22 +0000 /?p=1132 The bright fresh  colours of the wedding made it feel like Spring, but there was a bit of snow for Monica and Jeremy’s day.   Simple elegance is how we would describe Monica and Jeremy’s wedding. Monica and Jeremy make a beautiful couple and we loved working with them.

A vintage style wedding – Oshawa wedding photography /?p=1094 /?p=1094#comments Fri, 05 Apr 2013 00:14:00 +0000 /?p=1094 This post is all about the vintage details. Lace, baby’s breath bouquets, and pearls. My favourite part of this wedding was capturing the father and daughter moment outside the church before walking down the isle.
